Y O U K N O W
is the script of the video installation "Mudfish,"
by Roberto Bocci and I,
and some frames from the animation.
The full animation has 90 frames.
This is more or less the way it started out
before Roberto did the video,
sound, and editing for the mudfish video installation
at the Rathbone Gallery in Albany, NY.
The graphics should be loaded by now,
so scroll down and check it out.
Y O U K N O W
Yug, yug, mmmuh, come up for a little
...innawhile ...breathe viscous*
ecstatic molasses death.***
Somebody has to adapt
...be the first
...fill your lungs,
there is no up.****
* "Suck" is a curse now, we're so repelled at the sensual implication
**Don't need no smaller planet, just a heavier atmosphere
*** Two workmen die
when molasses tank bursts,
Port of Albany
**** Sex, not important
...sleep, not important
...food, not important
...breath, not important
You know, I'm not entirely suited for this
I should leave
what was I thinking
anybody will tell you
they'll lock you up for your own good
it's easy to forget and drown ecstatic, thinking
...I'll just breathe it
...too much right brain not enough right mind
...like a mudfish, right,
like those guys that died working on the molasses tank,
like each breath is this lifeboat that's just out of reach
...you can see the faces
...people making that titanic decision, your eyes as wide as the water.
Please let me out of here --
let me grow up Republican.
Get me a job at the Department
of Taxation and Finance.
