August 25: Put in at Stockport and went south to the Athens Lighthouse, 12 miles of pleasant morning rowing. The tide was low and going out when I put in, it changed so that I coasted back upriver with the wind and tide at my back.

Tied up for repairs in Athens was none other than the Half moon! What a treat to see it.

The Athens Light house. There are banners tied to the Lighthouse saying "Save the Lighthouse!" Why does a landmark like this have to go begging?

Snowy Egrets were sighted, scads of Eagles. And Phragmites.
