Another softwater sailor crosses over to the hard

Sail maker Ben Sperry of Sperry Sails, Marion MA, showed up at Massabesic at the end of last season with his brand new DN "Bullet." I started building this boat with the maximum length cockpit not knowing it was going to be Ben's. As it turns out he was a perfect fit. He the tallest iceboater I have ever seen at about 6'-6".

This boat was made from the remnants of its namesake, a 1950s skeeter. Doug Sharp had discovered what the ants had left behind of Bullet and Yankee Girl II on a rusted old trailer. Doug managed to salvage the side panels and some antique hardware. Now you can see Doug sailing his Super Duper DN YG3. Between Doug and I both boats have made it back to the ice as smaller more modern versions of their predecessors.

Be Green! Recycle that old gear, you never know, it could get one more soul out onto the ice.
